Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin TN December 8-9, 2012

Franklin TN Dickens of a Christmas Street FestivalDickens of a Christmas in Franklin TN December 8-9, 2012 is one of the many festivals that take place in the historic downtown. This festival will bring thousands of visitors into town to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.

There will be more than 250 Victorian era costumed characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit and Father Time. They look as though they just leaped off the pages of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.

Franklin TN Christmas TreeThis will be the 27th year this free street festival will be gracing the streets of our fair city.

Festivities run Saturday, December 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 9, noon to 5 p.m.

There will also be horse-drawn carriage rides in the square, an arts and crafts bazaar, dancers and street musicians; including hand bell choirs, harpists, carolers and violinists. Even the food vendors will provide Victorian treats. Who doesn't like fish 'n chips, turkey legs, roasted chestnuts, sausages and sugar plums?

At 4:30 on Sunday evening there will be a Town Sing in the square. I can't think of a better way to end the Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin TN for 2012.

Don't be a Scrooge and come out for the festivities. Information posted by Franklin Homes Realty LLC, your #1 source for Franklin TN real estate.

***How Wonderful*** Dickens is my favorite writer, from a bygone era.  ***A CHRISTMAS CAROL***  is my favorite holiday movie. I like to watch ALL the versions of the story, by different film companys, over the years. **I LOVE THE NAMES OF HIS CHARACTERS, SO UNIQUE.. Especially, EBENEZER!!!**  This must be a great crowd pleaser in your town.  Food served from that era sounds great, too. In the story, I love how Scrooge is transformed. Great Story For ALL !!!!

Thanks For Sharing..... Have A Dickens Christmas,  Myrna  :) :) :)  :(o_o):
